FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What is Haptikos?
Haptikos is an advanced haptic technology platform that combines hardware and software to deliver precise motion tracking and realistic touch feedback for immersive digital interactions. Haptikos consists of the Haptikos Exoskeletons, a high-precision motion tracking and haptic feedback system that captures hand movements and simulates real-world touch sensations, and Haptik_OS, the software ecosystem, Haptikos App and Haptikos Unity SDK, that powers Haptikos exoskeletons, enabling calibration, customization, and seamless integration with XR and robotics applications.
Haptikos is designed for professionals in training, robotics, industrial design, medical, aerospace, and research, where precise hand tracking and immersive haptics enhance workflows and training experiences.
Haptikos features submillimeter precision motion tracking with 24 degrees of freedom (DoF), instant tactile sensations, physics-based interaction libraries, and an exoskeleton-based design for superior accuracy and ergonomics – setting it apart from traditional glove-based solutions.
Haptikos exoskeletons use a 24-DoF exoskeleton-based tracking system to precisely capture finger and hand movements. The exoskeletons provide tactile feedback, simulating textures and surface interactions, as well as kinesthetic feedback, which resists movement and simulates physical constraints. Kinesthetic feedback will be integrated later this year.
Haptikos exoskeletons provide precise finger and hand tracking without external sensors. However, for 3D localization (global hand position in space), a 3rd party system is required, such as VR controllers, or HTC Vive trackers. This ensures accurate placement and interaction within virtual environments.
Yes, the exoskeletons are fully wireless, offering low – latency communication and up to eight hours of continuous battery life, ensuring uninterrupted use in professional environments.
Haptik_OS is the software ecosystem that powers Haptikos exoskeletons. It includes the Haptikos App, where users connect Haptikos exoskeletons, calibrate profiles, and manage hand motion data, as well as the Haptikos Unity SDK, which enables developers to integrate Haptikos exoskeletons into XR and robotics applications.
Yes, Haptik_OS is a separate part of the solution. It is comprised of Haptikos App and Haptikos Unity SDK. While the Haptikos exoskeletons provide hardware capabilities, Haptik_OS enables interaction, development, and integration.
Yes, haptik_OS requires a separate license. With every purchase of a pair of Haptikos exoskeletons, we provide 12 months of access to the Haptikos App for free. The Haptikos Unity SDK requires a separate annual license. If multiple users need access to the SDK, you must purchase the corresponding number of licenses.
Haptikos App is required to calibrate, configure, and use Haptikos exoskeletons for end applications. Developers integrating Haptikos into their applications will also need the Haptikos Unity SDK.
Haptik_OS is compatible with Windows, OpenXR, SteamVR, and Unity at the moment. Our Unity SDK allows for seamless integration into XR, and robotics applications.
The Haptikos Unity SDK provides ready-to-use libraries for gestures, grabbables, haptics, and UI interactions, along with their documentation, making integration straightforward.
Yes! The Haptikos Unity SDK allows for custom gesture recognition, programmable haptic feedback, and adaptive interactions tailored to your application.

LICENSING INFORMATION

Effective Date: June 10, 2025

This page outlines the licensing terms for using the Haptikos exoskeleton system, including its associated software components: the Haptikos App and the Haptikos Unity SDK. By purchasing, installing, or using any Haptikos product or service, you agree to the terms set forth below.

1. HARDWARE OWNERSHIP

When you purchase a Haptikos exoskeleton, you gain ownership of the physical hardware. However, this purchase does not grant ownership of the embedded firmware or accompanying software (such as the Haptikos App and Unity SDK), which are subject to separate license agreements.

2. SOFTWARE ACCESS AND ACTIVATION

Haptikos provides two software components to support your use of the exoskeleton system:

a. Haptikos App

The Haptikos App is a native desktop application for:

  • Device setup and connection

  • User profile creation

  • One-pose calibration

  • Real-time hand motion tracking

  • Recording and playback of hand data

License Terms:
The Haptikos App is included free of charge for the first 12 months following the activation of your Haptikos exoskeleton.

After the first year, continued use of the app may require a subscription or maintenance plan, depending on your support agreement.

b. Haptikos Unity SDK

The Haptikos Unity SDK provides tools for developers and XR creators, including:

  • Full integration with Unity, Open XR and Meta SDK

  • Grabbables and physics-based interactions

  • Haptic feedback framework

  • Gesture recognition framework

  • Developer utilities and ecosystem functionalities

License Terms:
Access to the Haptikos Unity SDK requires a separate, paid annual license. Your SDK license is valid for 365 consecutive days from the date of first login.

Renewal is required to maintain access to SDK features, updates, and support.

c. OTP-Based Activation

Access to Haptikos software is managed through a secure One-Time Password (OTP) procedure via the Haptikos App:

  • If you have purchased a Haptikos exoskeleton, you will receive an OTP to activate the Haptikos App.

  • If you have also purchased a Unity SDK license, the OTP will unlock both the App and SDK.

  • If no SDK license is linked to your account, the OTP will grant App-only access.

Please ensure you activate the software using the email address associated with your user email to receive the correct access via Users section under the Account profile tab.

3. SOFTWARE LICENSE TERMS

All Haptikos software is provided under a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for use solely with Haptikos hardware.

You May:

  • Install and use the software on compatible devices.

  • Access and use updates released during your license period.

You May Not:

  • Use the software with non-Haptikos devices.

  • Sell or sublicense the SDK or App independently.

  • Share login or license credentials with third parties.

4. FIRMWARE USE

Haptikos firmware is licensed, not sold, and may only be used on the device it was installed on. Unauthorized modification, redistribution, or flashing of firmware may result in:

  • Termination of your license

  • Voiding of product warranty

  • Loss of technical support

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

  • All hardware designs, software code, firmware, trademarks, and associated technologies are the intellectual property of Quanta & Qualia PCC, the company behind Haptikos. These are protected by international copyright and trademark laws.

6. TERMINATION OF LICENSE

Haptikos reserves the right to suspend or terminate your license if you:

  • Violate any terms outlined in this agreement.

  • Attempt to misuse, copy, or tamper with our software or hardware.

  • Upon termination, you must cease all use and destroy any copies of the software in your possession.
